Located in the French région Centre (South Touraine), Ligueil stands at the crossroads of several holiday routes.  Part of the Loire valley, home of the Royal Chateaux, Ligueil is also near Sologne, Berry, the Marais Poitevins and the 1,000 lakes of the Brenne Regional Natural Park.

Ligueil is a twin town of Hungerford (England) since 1980, and of Nentershausen (Germany) since 1990.
